Piùgoloso is born from the union of acacia honey and dried fruit, a typical combination of the Italian gastronomic tradition, which finds one of its highest expressions in torrone ‒ soft or brittle.
The Mieli Thun recipe involves a careful selection of dried fruit, chosen and separated manually to eliminate any imperfections. The fruits are then placed in jars and filled with acacia honey; the filling is done cold, to fully preserve the taste of the honey and the fruit. The classic composition of piùgoloso is with hazelnuts, half a kernel of walnuts and whole peeled almonds.
