FOREST HONEY 250g "MIELI THUN"
Forest honeydew is the richest in mineral salts—up to 1.5%, predominantly potassium—and for this reason, it is often referred to as the honey for athletes. It is produced from forest honeydews originating from broadleaf trees, which are deciduous or annual leaf plants, including oaks, black locusts, beeches, tree-of-heaven, poplars, willows, brambles, nettles, and clovers. It crystallizes slowly, especially in the presence of sunflower and goldenrod nectar.
The nose reveals an intense and penetrating aroma of Vin Santo, apricot compote, ripe fig, and black spices, with a licorice finish; on the palate, the taste is pronounced with notes of carob, rhubarb, and green tomato jam, with an aftertaste of cooked brown sugar.
